Level Two
Fundamental Aquatic Skills
Swim Fish & Sea Turtle

The objective of Level 2 is to give students success with fundamental skills. This level marks the beginning of true swimming skills. Students explore alternating arm and leg actions on the front and back which lays the foundation for future strokes. They also work on holding their breath, submerging their whole body, floating independently, beginning stroke technique and independent swimming.

At Starfish Swim School we have split Red Cross Level 2 into two groups; Swim Fish and Sea Turtles. Swim Fish are just beginning in Level 2 and Sea Turtles are working towards entering Level 3. During the early Levels this gives the students a sense of accomplishment as they see themselves progressing to another "Starfish Level".

Students are tested during their first lesson and placed in the appropriate Level. At the completion of each "Starfish Level" the student receives a Certificate of Achievement.
